Get up and try again.

I recently (as of this blog post) posted a personal quote on Instagram that states  "Every day is a new day to try again. Persistence is necessary for success".

Every day that we wake up (and let's just stop and have major gratitude for that fact alone), we have a new day to try again. To assess where we've maybe not done enough, where we've made some mistakes and where we can say, "Okay, what can I do different today? How can I show up differently today? What can I do more of today? What can I change or shift or try today to help me move closer to my goals?"

I truly believe, and if you've read any stories of success before, that those who've accomplished amazing success have had some kind of really major failure or something kind of crazy happen in their worlds before the success came in. If you've read Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill (which is a book I love and recommend), he states "Before success comes to most people, they are sure to meet with much temporary defeat and perhaps some failure. When faced with defeat the easiest thing to do it to quit. That is what most people do". He goes on to say "Failure is a trickster with a keen sense of irony and cunning. It takes great delight in tripping one up when success in almost within reach".

>> "Before success comes to most people, they are sure to meet with much temporary defeat and perhaps some failure" <<

I totally believe this and have witnessed it in my own life. What I'm finding in all this that I'm reading and doing is that it's the ones who persist through the hard times, through the failures, through the struggle and PERSIST, they show up and take another step and another step and another step, those are the ones that find that true, fulfilling success. Those who get stuck in the crap, in the failure, and don't try to take another step because they feel it's too hard and quit, they decide to push their dreams aside instead because they've convinced themselves that it's not going to work and to give up is just easier.

There are always going to be difficulties we have to wade through. It's in the persistence, it's in the taking action even when you don't feel like it, doing the do even when it sucks, posting another thing, contacting another person, putting out another piece of content that you're going to get closer to making your dreams become a reality. It's in the persistence. I know within my network marketing world, the goal that I wanted to accomplish in my business, I set that goal early on because I could see the potential in making it happen. I could see things starting to take shape. What I initially set out for my goals in 2010, I wanted to accomplish it in 2012. It didn't happen. 2013 it didn't happen. 2014, nada. I kept pushing out the goal, but the thing is is that I kept being persistent in the pursuit of making it happen. I showed up again and again.

Finally in 2015 that goal I set for myself back in 2010 finally happened, after 5 years of persistent effort.

Today I have new goals, I'm pivoting and persisting through this next phase of my life. And the coolest part, the difficulties are still there, they'll show up every damn time, but what happens is YOU GET BETTER, you learn from the past failures, and triumphs and frig, if you got through that you sure as heck can get through this.

Each time you have a failure, each time you have a disappointment, each time somebody quits, each time things don't work out. If you quit during that time, there's no lesson, but if you keep going during that time, that's when you learn something and you GROW. Then the next time it happens, it's not as bad. You're like, "Yeah. Yeah. That's happened to me before. Yeah. Whatever." Keep moving. Obstacles are stepping stones to opportunity.

So, sometimes it's difficult to see the forest through the trees, but the way you get to see that gorgeous forest is by going THROUGH IT. Enjoy the journey and that is the absolutely key to all of this stuff is enjoying and being grateful for the journey, the places where you've had to dig deep and persist. That's fulfilling. I'm' going to say that again. It's the joy in going through those moments where you have to persist. That's the JOY. You can look back on that and go, "Wow. I did that. I continued through that. I didn't give up. I didn't quit. I didn't let that person stop me. I didn't let that negative comment stop me. I didn't let the financial situation stop me."

I remember, oh gosh I wish I could remember where I found this now. There was something I read on Facebook it must have been a meme or something. I can't remember who it was so I can't give credit to them but it stated this: "So far you've survived 100% of your worst days. You're doing great!"

>> "So far you've survived 100% of your worst days. You're doing great!" <<

Your success rate is 100%. You're still here today. I just loved that quote because I don't know about you but in our world, we've been through some tough days and we've made it through,  we're still going and we're not giving up. Every day we wake up is a new day for us to go, "Okay. Let's do this. Let's try this again. Let's continue to put effort towards it. Let's continue to take the next step. Let's persist."

Persistence is necessary for success and I truly believe anybody who has achieved many great things in their life, any successes, they've always had to persist through something not so fun. There's always going to be something trying to hold you back, trying to keep you the same, trying to keep you in a comfort zone. That that's not where the growth happens. The growth happens when you get out of your comfort zone.
